Stretch’s Scary Halloween Song No.1: Bela Lugosi’s Dead

“Bela Lugosi’s Dead” by Bauhaus.

Bauhaus released this as their first single and I know some people might not agree, but they peaked with this.

“The virginal brides file past his tomb
Strewn with time’s dead flowers
Bereft in deathly bloom
Alone in a darkened room”

These beautiful lines remind me of where I grew up.  The graveyard where I would flounce around narcotically. Still gives me the fear when I think of it.  Oh the shame, the shame. Lying on top of tombs thinking I was Jim Morrison or something stupid like that. Thanks Peter Murphy, no really , thanks.
